Event Description:
In this workshop, led by Karen Knops, MD, you will learn the "ASCEND" pathway-five steps for understanding your own stories about your health. These concepts will then be explored in the context of a visit to the doctor and for challenging medical discussions. Topics will include advanced care planning, getting a new diagnosis and overcoming miscommunication. We will discuss the importance of self compassion, self care and being an advocate for ourselves and the people we love.
